Taste of Morocco 8 Days Tour from Casablanca

Marrakech, Ait benhaddou, Ouarzazate, Dades, Todra canyons, Erg Chebbi, Fes Medina, Tishka Pass, Ziz valley

Day 1: Casablanca - Rabat
You will be greeted at Casablanca airport according to your flight details by your tour driver and tranport to Rabat. You will first stop by Casablanca, the industrial and largest city of the kingdom, to visit the main landmark here of the city; The Hassan II mosque; with 21Om minaret and then take a drive leisurely along the famous beach of Ain Diab. Alternatively a visit to the mueusem of Moroccan Judaisim or lunch in famous Ricks Cafe are worth the time in Casa. Aftewards, enjoy a drive along the coastal line to the administrative capital;Rabat; To visit the Mausolleum of Mohamed V, Hassan tower and the Oudaya Kasbah plus the necropolis of Chella if time allows that before you check into your riad in the medina of Rabat.

Day 2: Rabat - Meknes Volubilis - Fes
After breakfast, you will start at 9 am from your hotel and head to Meknes, you will be astonished by the vast and green farmlands on your way, the fertile hills around Meknes are home of grapes and vineyards in Morocco. Once in Meknes, you will go on sightseeing tour starting with the famous gate of Bab Mansour, Sahrij Swani, Kara prison and a stop by the Jewish cemetary of Meknes. Later on, you will continue to the holy town of Moulay Driss where you can get panoramic views of the lush valleys before you stop by the entrance of the roman ruins city;Volubilis; A wonderfully preserved UNESCO site since 1997. You will be taken on a guided walking tour to learn more about the roman existence in Morocco. You will end your day by a sort drive to Fes where you check into your riad and stay for two successive nights.

Day 3: Exploring Fes medina with a local guide
After breakfast, you will meet your local professional tour guide and driver to take you on a guided sightseeing tour of Fes including both medina with it’s historical sites and landmarks as well as the newer section with stops by the Royal Palace, the Jewish district, the American Foundouk and the views from the southern tower. You will also visit the famous leather (Stinky) tanneries and watch the intricate work of Zeilij tiles (Mosaics). For those interested in cookery class for the afternoon, we have a popular cook in Fes ready to give lessons depedning on availability. The guide will take around the medina in the souks and stop by the Jemaa Al karaouine and the Mederassa Bouinania. You will end up your guided city tour by returning to the riad to relax for while. You can dine out or order a dinner at your riad.

Day 4: Fes - Ziz Valley - Erg Chebbi Dunes
Early pick up at around 7:30 AM from your hotel or riad in Fes, heading to the sahara desert of Merzouga, known as Erg Chebbi dunes, via Tizi N’Tlghomt in the Atlas Mountains, passing firstly by Ifrane the sky resort city and home of the famous university Al Alakhawayn then through the lush hilly lands to the famous cedar forest, home of maggot monkeys. You are invited for a short break to take pictures while feeding the monkeys and also an optional walk to enjoy the fresh air of the forest. You will continue your Fes to Marrakech desert trip via the amazing Ziz valley through multiple cities such as Errachidia, Erfoud and Rissani also known as the old Sijilmassa; Rissani is considered the cradle of the Alaouite dynasty which rules Morocco today. It’s traditional market is considered the most important in the south especially in the old days, nomads still come to shop there on specific days of the week. Heading further more to one of the main Moroccan desert destinations, Erg Chebbi sand sea dunes, where you will take a camel trek to reach the camp and experience the sunset on the way to your tented camp, you will enjoy your dinner under the stars, get entertained by the camel drivers playing drums.

Day 5: Erg Chebbi Dunes - Todra Valley - Dades Valley or Skoura
Wake up early in the morning, to witness the sunrise, over the top of the higher sand dunes, before enjoying your breakfast in the camp, after you finish you will ride camels back to the Auberge at the edge of the dunes to shower, and meet up with your driver. Your Fes to Marrakech Sahara tour takes you to the Skoura Palmary where you will be spending your night, passing through the Todra gorges, which is one of the most spectacular natural attractions that Morocco has to offer attracting rock climbers from all over the world. Next will be the colourful Dades valley along the road of a Thousand Kasbahs. Once you arrive to Skoura you will check in into your guesthouse hotel have dinner and spend the night.

Day 6: Dades or Skoura - Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech
You will start your morning by having breakfast at your hotel, then leave Skoura to continue on your trip to Marrakech, with a visit to the cinema sets, studios and the famous Taourirt Kasbah of Ouarzazate. Later on you will have time to walk and explore the traditional Moroccan architecture of the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, the Kasbah that has been a stage of many glorious films that were shot there. In the afternoon you will cross the Tizi N Tichka Pass and the High Atlas Mountains to reach Marrakech. Check into you riad for the overnight.

Day 7: Exploring Marrakech with a local guide
After breakfast, you will meet your assigned local professional tour guide to take you on a guided sightseeing tour of Marrakech, both the medina with its historical sites and the popular gardens such as the Majorelle of Yves Saint Laurent. You will also stop by the famous Koutoubia mosque with its minaret of 77m, the Saadian tombs and the fascinating Bahia Palace. You will also walk around the souks full of shops, artisans,flavors and smells of spices, olives & and local food. At the end, we will arrange transportation to Marrakech airport or train station depending on your travel arrangements. ==>N.B: This sightseeing medina tour could be done at the beginning of this tour The Imperial cities & Sahara tour could be operated in reverse depending on flight details and timeframes of each traveller.

Day 8: Marrakech Departure
After breakfast, we will arrange transportation to Marrakech airport, Casablanca airport or train station depending on your travel arrangements.
